2.       JURISDICTION:
Held under the General Competition Rules (GCR’s) and Standing Supplementary Regulations (SSR’s) of Motorsport South Africa (MSA), these Supplementary Regulations (SR’s) and final instructions which may be issued to competitors and any relevant MSA Circulars of 2019, which will take precedence to these SR’s.

These regulations must be read and understood by all competitors.

 

3.       MOTORSPORT SOUTH AFRICA PERMIT NUMBER: MSA 15719 (Issued 23 January 2019)

4.       EVENT AND STATUS:

The event will be known as the WFO 4 Rivers Hard Enduroand will be the first round of the 2019 KZN Regional Enduro Championship.

5.       ELIGIBILITY OF COMPETITORS:

Please refer to Art9 (f) of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s and point 4 in the KZN Enduro SSR’s.

Timing will be done by Race Control. Cost of transponders areR100.00 each, payable at documentation, to Race Control.  These transponders are reusable and will remain the property of the competitors.

 
6.       COMPETITOR CONDUCT

Please refer to Art 25 of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s.

Under no circumstances will competitors or helpers be allowed to ride their machines once they have completed the event.  Failure to adhere to this will result in exclusion from the event. This will be dealt with in an extremely strict manner.

Documentation & Self Scrutineering 26 January 2019 – 06.30am to 08.00am at pits
Impound Closes 26 January 2019 – 08.30 am all engines off at this point.
Riders Briefing – WFO Enduro 26 January 2019 – 08.30am at the start line
Start of Event – WFO Enduro 26 January 2019 – 09:00am
Prize giving time Once results have been finalized

9.       COMPETITION NUMBERS:
Competition numbers for all classes will be those as issued by Motorsport S.A (Head Office) only.

All licences (including One event and WOW) to be obtained on the MSA Online Licence system – www.msaonline.co.za before the event to avoid delay at event documentation.

 

10.   ENTRIES:
For an entry to be valid, a completed official online entry form must be with the organiser by the closing date.

On the Day WOW entries only – COMPETITORS 50 YEARS OLD AND OLDER CANNOT ENTER ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT, AND NEED TO SUBMIT STRESS ECG RESULTS TO MSA BEFORE A LICENCE CAN BE ISSUED TO COMPETE.

11.   ENTRANT’S LICENCES:
Where the entrant is NOT the rider, an entrant’s licence must be obtained from MSA and submitted at documentation, failing which the Entrant’s name will not be published in the results. Refer to ART 4 of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s.

 

12.   CLASSES:  
Regional (Minimum of a Regional Licence or one event Regional licence only) Please refer to 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s, as well as REGIONAL REGULATIONS – Point 5 of the KZN Enduro SSR’s.

200cc, Open, High school, Seniors and Masters

All riders must have completed One lap to be a finisher

Club (Minimum of a Club Licence or one event Club licence only) Clubman Class (non-championship)

Clubmans Juniors- 16 years and older and not yet 21 (this is open to riders who are able to ride an 85cc, 125cc, 150cc).

Grand Masters – 55 years and older

Novice Clubman Class

All riders must have completed One lap to be a finisher. Riders that do the Regional loop may be given time back at the discretion of the COC.

WOW Class

 

Open to all persons from the year of their 15th Birthday. Subject to the conditions of point 9 above.

All riders must have completed One lap to be a finisher. Riders that do the Regional loop may be given time back at the discretion of the COC.

A rider must be mobile with his motorcycle and cross the finish line in order for the lap to

be counted.

 

13.   GENERAL RACE INFORMATION:  
         WOW CLASS Riders in this class will be electronically timed for accountability only, therefore a timing tag is required. Timing and results of on the day entries are not guaranteed.

         DOCUMENTATION AND SCRUTINEERING: Refer to Programme of Events above. Self-Scrutineering will apply. Refer to Art 15 of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s.
RIDERS BRIEFING: Refer to Programme of Events above. All riders must be present at the briefing at the stipulated time and venue. The race starts with riders briefing.Please refer to Art 26 of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s.
IMPOUND & PARC FERME: ParcFerme will apply, all bikes to be parked in the batches provided.
OFFICIAL NOTICE BOARD: At Race Control
PITS: Exceeding walking pace in the pit lane will result in a time penalty being imposed.
RACE HEADQUARTERS: 4 Rivers, Winterton
PRIZE-GIVING: 4 Rivers, Winterton
DSP’S AND REFUELLING: No outside refuelling. Refueling only in the pits

It is a condition of entry that every pit has an acceptable Environmental mat and Fire Extinguisher of 2.5 kg’s (Min)

TIME BARS: 14h30 or once the lead rider has completed the required number of laps. The time bar is at the discretion of the COC
ROUTE/EVENT DESCRIPTION: Refer to point 7 of the KZN Enduro SSR’s..

The COC will decide upon the number of laps to be ridden. Time back for “Pro/Signature sections” of the route completed will be at the descretion of the COCand these decisions will be conveyed to the riders at riders briefing and on the event notice board.

 

The organisers may on the day decide to make the first lap an untimed lap that does not count to the overall result (sighting lap).  This has become necessary due to the terrain that the WFO course is set on to ensure that the COC can make the correct decision with regards to the number of laps required across all the classes.

 

FINISH AND ROUTE CHECK CONTROL CARDS: These are to be handed in with your Event Evaluation Form.

Please refer to Art 33 of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s.  A missed check point will result in a time penalty to be determined by the COC.  3 missed check points on a lap will result in a 1 lap penalty, this may be varied at the discretion of the COC.

SWEEPS AND RECOVERY: Sweepers go out after cut off.

Recovery is the responsibility of the rider

RESULTS: Refer to Art 42 of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s.

Provisional results to be posted as soon as they are ready

TROPHIES / AWARDS: Awards will be made to the riders placed first to third in their respective classes, Note: All awards will be distributed at prize giving.  Any competitor who is not present shall forfeit all such awards – Refer GCR 280 (iii).
SPECTATOR / SERVICE GUIDES: Spectator points info available at race control
RETIREMENT AND INCIDENT REPORT FORMS: Failure to hand in an Event Evaluation Form as soon as finishing the race, but latest within 30 minutes of respective time bars or as soon as arriving back at racing control will be a Non Finishers Result. If unable to do so, due to being stuck / injured on the route, competitors should phone the COC in the interim.

14.   POSTPONEMENT, ABANDONMENT OR CANCELLATION:
The Organisers reserve the right to cancel the event if less than 100 entries have been received by the closing date

The Organisers reserve the right to postpone, abandon or cancel the meeting or any part thereof. In the event of any of the above, the Competitor/Entrant has no right to claim against the Promoter/Organiser in respect of any loss or damage he/she may incur, other than that specified in GCR 244.  The meeting will not be postponed, abandoned or cancelled without the consent of the Clerk of Course in accordance with GCR 152.

 

15.    ADVERTISING:
It is condition of entry that in addition to the advertising referred to in GCR 246, competing motorcycles shall also display the advertising, if any, as stipulated in the Championship and specifications for the class for which the motorcycle is entered.
 
16.    POINTS:
Points will be scored as per Art 7 in the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s.
17.   PROTESTS:
All protests and appeals will be dealt with as set out in GCR Appendix R, Parts IX and X.

 

18.   RIGHTS OF THE CLERK OF COURSE:

The Clerk of the Course and/or the Stewarts of the Meeting have the right to call a halt to an event due to “force majeure” for any of the following, but not limited to, reasons:

i)     Extreme weather conditions

ii)    Serious or fatal accident

iii)   Sections of the route being deemed impassable owing to recent extreme weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

iv)   Dangerous circumstances for riders involving spectators or bystanders.

v)    Any other circumstances which the Clerk of the Course, in his sole discretion, deems to be dangerous or prejudicial to competitors.

 
19.   CROSSING OF PUBLIC /DISTRICT ROADS:

As the organizer we have fully acquainted ourselves with Art 20 of the 2019 MSA SA National Enduro SSR’s. We the organizers are also aware and have acquainted ourselves with the provisions of Section 317 of the Road Traffic Act and confirm that the event officials have been made aware of the above section.  By allowing the event to proceed we accept that all requirements are complied with and where applicable all relevant permissions are in place.

 
20.   GENERAL:
Safety Plan for the event will be available from the Race Secretary, as per the requirements of the Safety & Recreation Act 2 of 2010.  Written permissions and Police Clearance Certificate will also be with the race secretary.

Every pit is required to have a Fire Extinguisher of at least 2.5kg capacity.

Every rider is required to use an Environmental Mat when refuelling

Failure to meet these requirements will result in a fine being imposed

Refuse Bags will be available at The Registration Table

Riders are expected to take their refuse bags with them when leaving

Riders to carry rope, whistle, cell phone, Minor Repair Kit, Water, Nutrition and Sun Block.

Helmets are to be worn at all times by any person on a motorcycle that has its engine running.

 
21.    DIRECTIONS:
